A review of The Rushcutters by Sue written on Tuesday 4th of November 2008
I went to the Rushcutters recently for a meal with some work colleagues.
I ordered a steak and onion baguette as a light lunch.
When it arrived I was very disappointed to find it virtually inedible - it was advertised as rump steak, but I have never had rump steak that tasted like liver and had the texture of a car tyre. There was not a piece of it that I could chew and most of the pieces had large strips of gristle running through them. I would imagine that this was stewing steak, not rump steak.
I did complain and I was very quickly offered my money back - I did not want anything else to eat. I refrained from making a real deal about it at I was with company, but I would like to know how the chef thought it was OK to let food like that go out of the kitchen. It wasn't that the food was cold or undercooked and therefore open to individual requirements, it was low quality food very badly prepared.
The waitress was lovely - not her fault.
I won't bother going back there again. .
