"Racecourse Inn carvery...watch your bill!"

I'm in agreement with the other review here. We had a mixed experience at the Racecourse Inn, Norwich today. Whilst the carvery food was excellent - somehow it took over 30 minutes for them not to provide a children's starter I(soup - something that is usually prepared in advance in an cafe/pub/restaurant) for our young son. In the end we had to cancel the order as he completely lost the plot as we had obtained our food - and had to resort to emergency rations we had brought with us! They also attempted to charge us 8.99 each for the carvery meals although they were advertised as 2 for 12 pounds!

Whilst the children's play area is obviously great for the kids - it is way beyond what most children under the age of four are capable of dealing with safely - the alternative for very young children being one very small play room.

If you visit I recommend taking children between 4 and 10 and making sure you order any food (which is very good I must add) well in advance of any visits to the carvery. I would also recommend using the play area to distract your kids while you wait for food!.
